The Ruby got its name due to its color, which derives from the Latin name "Ruben", which means red , belongs to the family of corundum along with Sapphires. Considers as the most valuable gemstone in the world after diamonds as the most valuable gemstone in the world after diamonds. hardness: 9 Chemical composition: Al O₂. Colour substance: Chromium

HEALINGS:  A gem which makes you alert and purifies the blood circulation. Also it has the ability of controlling your pressure and anger. If the colours are strong it assists you in other aspects. Sapphires

It is considered as the most popular gemstone from Sri Lanka. Sapphires consists of all possible colours like Pink, orange, golden, and king Sapphires. Though Sri Lanka is not the only country which produces Blue Sapphires, but the best natural colours like corn flower blue and the Royal blue from Sri Lanka are fascinating colours which has been accepted by the gem merchants all over the world. Moonstones

The first stone found in Sri Lanka, consists of different colours from milky white to orange or grey, but the Moonstone which has a blue tint, which is known as the blue moonstone is an extra beauty of the feldspar family. Hardness: 6 to 6.5 Chemical calcium aluminum silicate

Star Sapphires

Belongs to the family of corundum is an opaque variety. The star stone is some thing special and fascinating, where the star on the center of the surface moves. Star Sapphires consisting of colours like grey, Milky white and red. The blue star is a rare variety which may be more valuable then comparing to other star stone. Hardness: 9

Alexandrite

Considered as one of the rarest gemstone available in Sri Lanka today, belongs to the family of chrysoberyl. This  is considered as green to the day light and changes its colour to brownish red to artificial light. Hardness: 8.5

HEALINGS: This stone has a positive effect on the nervous system. Also has a beneficial effect on all the internal organs, ensuring smooth harmonious functioning. Alexandrite also has protective properties. It guards against hyperpiesia of the stomach and academic of the blood. 

White Sapphires

Known as colourless sapphires belongs to the family of corundum, which is having a brilliance no less than a diamond. Blue, pink, yellow tint in some of the stones may indicate the absence, or lack of certain colour substances. Hardness: 9 Chemical: Al O2

Aquamarines

Belongs to the group of beryl along with emeralds. Sea water colours is considered to be the best colour, also known as the lucky stone of the fisherman, which is also known as the beauty of the semi precious. Hardness: 7.5 to 8 colour substance: aluminum beryllium silicate.

Tourmalines

No gemstone dies has a rich colour combination like the tourmalines the most common being dark. It also comes in pink to red, blue, yellow brown, green orange, and then a combination of two or more of these colours, which is referred as a rainbow tourmaline. Hardness: 6.5 to 7
